Ruhrstahl X-4

Type: air to air missile
Speed: 1152 km/h

A WWII missiles used to shot down allied bombers coming to germany, one of its innovation is that it was a wire guided missile at the maximum range of more than 9000 metres. The first test was launched by a Junker JU88 bomber, then it was tested by a Focke-Wulf FW190 fighter. It was also intended for another German jet the TA-183 (However the fighter project was cancelled) the fighter could carry four X-4 missiles. The survivors are stored in the National USAF museum, Ohio, USA.
