One of its special weaponary is the Harrier Helicopter on the American side, The Helicopter had two rotor engines and the main body of the helicopter was from the Avro Lancaster design.
Below here is the blue print of the helicopter however the language is in German....

The Amerika(America) Bomber Projects!

The German declares war in US, and they wanted to attack America. However the 'Operation Drumrole' was a failure so the german had to attack America by air. They had more than hundred bomber projects, but the only bomber which was successfull was the Me 264 experimental bomber. Unfortunately it didnt see in combat. Here are some of the Projects:

Saunders Roe SR A1

Origin: Great Britain
First Flight: 1947
Retired: 1951
Type: Seaplane Fighter
Speed: 512 mph
Armament: four 20mm canons & two 1000lb bombs or rockets

Based on the Blackburn B.44 (My last post) the SR A1 was one of the planes succes expirienced by the some of the Japanese seaplane fighters such as the A6M2-N. British made the plane which was suited in the Pacific Theater in WWII as a Jet naval fighter. The design was supposed to be using a Piston engine, instead the Saunders Roe aircraft company made the aircraft with a Jet engine. However the aircraft was to late for WWII and its first flight was in 1947 (Two years after WWII). There was some problems with the aircrafts which the pilot had a poor view because of the frame in the engine and also the jet engine parts were limited. The last prototype flew in 1951. This plane also competes with the US Convair Sea Dart.

although the plane dosent have any proper nickname, the company worker called it the 'Squirt'.

Blackburn B.44

Origin: Great Britain
Manufacturer: Blackburn Aircraft
Type: Seaplane Fighter
Aircraft Status: Never been built
Armament: four 20mm canons

when the Japanese succeded in the Pacific, the British needed a fighter to fight the Japanese and which can be used in each islands. The design starts in 1942, the seaplane was designed with a reatractable floats which splits the lower fuselage floats with an hydraulic. They used the Napier Sabre engine which is installed in the nose of the aircraft and the armament are mounted in the wings. Unfortunately the projects was stopped due to limited supplies and serious controls in stability.

Heinkel Lerche

Origin: Germany
Type: VTOL Fighter/interceptor
Project Status: Never Been Built
Armament: Two MK108 30mm Canons

It was Heinkel's VTOL (Vertical Take OffLanding) fighter/interceptor aircraft, it was based on the Heinkel design of the "Wespe" (Wasp). The Heinkel engineers in Vienna starts their design in Febuary 25, 1945 and the design was completed in March 8, 1945. The "Lerche" (Skylark) has a ducted wing planform with a contratoring propellers, powered by two Daimler Benz DB605D engines. The Pilot has to lay in a prone position in the glazed nose cockpit. Its projected armament was two 30mm canons and possible three/four X-4 missiles (Which you can see on my last blog).

In Entertainment this aircraft is available in game called the 'IL-2 Sturmovik 1946' combat flight simulator.

Props N Jets

There are props and there are jets, but what about both engines. since the late 1940's aircrafts engineers creates a bizzare design of giving jet engines to a prop aircraft. because of the jet age was coming and the prop fighters was still to slow they need to boost up the speed by giving an extra jet engine but it was still experimental. Here are the examples:

North American P-51 Mustang (With two Ford PJ-31 Pulsejet engine)
Origin: USA
First Flight: 1945
Type: Fighter
Speed: 400-500mph
The Mustangs was already one of the legendary fighters in the WWII because of its Merlin piston engine. However because of the new jet coming up and the USSR are already testing some fo their new aircrafts, the North American Aircraft company use the P-51 mustang and fitted with two jet engines. It boost more speed to the aircraft but it causes more drag in the aircrafts, the idea was dropped soon after the test.

Lavochkin LA-9 (With two RD-13 jets)
Origin: USSR/Russia
First Flight:1947
Type: Fighter
Speed: 690km/h
Armament: 4x 23mm cannons
Besides the P-51 mustang project the Russian made its own fighter from an LA-9 fighter aircraft fitted with two RD-13 jet engine. IT was suppose to boost more powere to the prop aircraft it was first flown in 1947.

Ruhrstahl X-4

Origin: Germany
Tested in: 1944
Type: air to air missile
Speed: 1152 km/h

A WWII missiles used to shot down allied bombers coming to germany, one of its innovation is that it was a wire guided missile at the maximum range of more than 9000 metres. The first test was launched by a Junker JU88 bomber, then it was tested by a Focke-Wulf FW190 fighter. It was also intended for another German jet the TA-183 (However the fighter project was cancelled) the fighter could carry four X-4 missiles. The survivors are stored in the National USAF museum, Ohio, USA.

The Kyushu J7W / J7W2 'Shinden' the jet version

Country/Origin: Japan
First Flight: August 3, 1945
Type: Fighter
Service: Japanese navy air force
Armament: four 30mm cannons and two 132lb (60kg) bombs

One of the early Canard design planes and one of the most advance fighters in WWII. The reason for this fighter is to stop the B-29 superfortress from Bombing Japan. there were two prototypes before the end of the war, but before they tried the full model a glider design was launched which was called the MXY6. Then in Aug 1945 the first prototype with an engine flew however it was a turboprop. The Jet version 'J7W2' was never succeded in the end of the war. The survivor of the aircraft is preserved in the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. 'J7W' (above) 'J7W2' (Below)

The Douglas XB-19 high altitude bomber

During the 1930's it was very rare to see any large aircrafts however the US Douglas Aircraft Corp decided to make an aircraft larger than any aircraft in the world. It was built in the 1930's and it was completed in 1941. It was said that it was the largest aircraft in the world, its primary role was a heavy bomber but it was never seen in combat and it is experimental.

Introduction To the Blog

I've been interested in Aircraft since 2007. This blog is mostly on aircrafts secret projects which had been hidden or experiental. Either in Civil projects or Military Projects both has its own secrets, Since WWI to the WW II and to the cold war and the modern age.
